Martial Arts Classes
Adult Martial Arts Kindai Inazuma Ryu Tai Jutsu
Ages 12 & up Minimum 2 Classes Per Week
The Kindai Inazuma Ryu Tai Jutsu program is our core martial arts system. Kindai means “modern,” “Inazuma” means lightning, “Ryu,” means system or style, and “Tai Jutsu, stands for body science. Study in this system requires an adult student to commit to at least 2 classes per week. The students will be exposed to different stretching exercises that will increase their flexibility and muscle tone. They will be put through a cardio workout, which will help them burn calories and lose weight. They will learn both physical and cognitive concepts of the martial arts through strategies and tactics. Students will also be exposed to the history and philosophy, and may also study the spirituality of the system if the students so desire. In these classes, we focus on practical self-defense, for street situations in today’s world, primarily focusing on close quarter combat. We utilize pressure points, joint manipulations, nerve centers, off-balancing techniques, punches, kicks, throws, ground fighting techniques, as well as knife, gun, and club defensive techniques. Our program is a complete martial arts defensive system.

Adult Saigo Ha Daito Ryu Aiki Jutsu/Aikido
Minimum 2 Classes Per Week
The Aikido martial arts system is on the other side of the spectrum as it relates to the Tai Jutsu system. It is a more passive martial art. Aikido is primarily the art of redirecting an opponent’s energy, be it cognitive or physical. Due to its off-balancing techniques, the practitioner learns how to fall correctly without sustaining injury. Aikido emphasizes learning how to receive a throw because a majority of the aikido techniques have throws contained in them. There are elements in this system to reduce the fear of falling that uniquely builds confidence. If an assailant were to attack an Aikido practitioner, the Aikido student would move off to the side to avoid getting struck, redirect the assailant’s energy to ward off the attack, get the assailant into a lock technique, and either choose to immobilize the assailant, without harm or the student could utilize a throw technique to project the assailant away. The student studying Aikido will also study the history and philosophy of this system.
Adult Martial Arts Kumiuchi Ryu Jiu Jutsu- By Invitation only
Minimum 2 Classes Per Week
There is a time honored tradition within the martial arts to pay respect to the Martial Arts mentor who sacrificed time and attention to nurture, guide, and instruct another to rise to the title of Soke by continuing the mentor’s martial art’s system. As such, I, Soke LeClair pay hommage to my mentor, Soke Rubiano’s system- Kumiuchi Ryu Jiu Jutsu. Students at our dojo begin their martial arts journey with my Kindai system and when the practitioner achieves the brown belt level, that student has all the principles and concepts needed to transfer into the Kumiuchi Ryu system. Therefore, the student may receive an invitation to commence a dual study of the two systems simultaneously. The Jiu and Tai Jutsu systems are a more aggressive type of martial art, using a wide variety of blocks, strikes, chokes, and throws in combination with other defensive maneuvers.
Private Martial Arts Instruction- Any style- Members only

Private classes count toward rank time requirements. All students are highly encouraged to book private classes two weeks to a month prior to a test date to illuminate any weak areas for additional practice and support prior to testing. Soke, Sesai's and Shihan's teach to the heart and soul of my son. They've reached him in a way no one else has been able to." -- Jessica Leigh

"I’ve been a student of the Budo Kai Martial Arts Institute on and off since the late 90s and there is no better martial arts institute around.
I signed up my daughters, Stephanie and Stacy in 2017 at the ages of 10 and 7...There is no better feeling in the world for a father than to know his girls can take care of themselves both financially and physically. I would highly recommend the Budo Kai Martial Arts Institute to any parent that feels the same way."-- David Butler

"Rick LeClair and his team of instructors are phenomenal. Both my husband and I, plus all four of our children, grew up in his dojo, working our/their way up through the ranks. His methods teach self-respect, honesty, integrity, and model giving to others- qualities not found in other programs. Even after my children have grown, his mentoring continues as Rick takes time to check on them--The dedication of this dojo to their clients is second-to-none." -- Elaine Gagne

"This is a great place to learn Martial Arts systems that really work. Ranks are not just "handed out" because you cough up some money every few months. This is a real dojo where members respect each other and you actually must earn your rank. So if your looking for a place to hand you a black belt in 1 or 2 years so you can pat yourself on the back, then this is not the place for you. But, if you are looking for a dojo that will teach you effective systems and your willing to put in the time and commitment, then this is the place for you." -- Erik Serating
